Shelley Carthen Watson - Associate General Counsel

Shelley joined the Office of the General Counsel in 1999. Her practice is primarily devoted to labor and employment matters. Prior to coming to the University, Shelley was a partner with the law firm of Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi, and served as Deputy Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Human Rights, and as Executive Director of the Hennepin County Bar Association and Hennepin County Bar Foundation. An honors graduate of Macalester College, she received her law degree from Northwestern University School of Law in 1985. Shelley currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of College and University Attorneys.
